Wonder what it's like having a real Cobra these days. Maybe people don't even know what a real Cobra is. They think they are all kits...
Marcus, back when I lived in holliston in 1984-1992, I used to frequent a lumber supply place down around depot street, and occasionally I'd bump into a guy who had an original unrestored '64 289 cobra. it was red it was really sweet. He drove it a lot and it looked it. after about 1988 i stopped seeing it around town adn haven't since, I often wonder what happened to that car.
the straight side 289 is a much better looking car to my eye than the bulbous, exaggerated, and somwhat cartoonish 427. only one company I've been able to find - Hawk in GB - makes a good 289 replica.
It's not on anymore, but for a few years MeTV was airing the old Anne Francis private eye TV show "Honey West". Pasm and I watched it regularly. What kind of car did Honey drive, you wonder? A straight side 289 Cobra. it was prominently featured in the series, about every other episode, and yup, Anne was doing the driving.
