Good point our gathering has landed end of May beginning of June we should be ok. So far that 2 week window has worked. I would shoot for end of May again for '17.

I've been looking at the Ozark area. looks great. The scenic tour roads that I found on Motorcycle sites are no where near the water areas they are further east in the state and the lodging I think would be a problem. Does someone know what this area is like?. The touristy section all has nice places to stay but a ways away from specific tour roads.

I live in Gainesville, Mo. We're very near the center of the Ozarks. If you're looking for great roads, Google "Push Mountain Road", or "Dragon of the Ozarks". PMR is just a little South of me on the Arkansas side. Check with the guys that came here for the 2011 "Gathering". What would you like to know, I'll be glad to dig it up for you!

The Eminence area seems to be where a lot of the roads I've been finding go through or around. So what towns do you think are out that way to support a gathering. And in your opinion is the area around the water just as nice?

There are a lot of great roads in southern Missouri. When I was helping Russ set up the gathering in Cuba I looked at many of the roads around Eminence, but it was too far from Cuba for any of the trips. Also look around Doniphan to the south (142 and 160) and vibernum to the north for good roads. If looking for interesting stops, may consider Johnson Shutins, Elephant Rock or Taum Sauk Mountain. The roads around these places are good as well. If looking for locations with decent hotels and food, you may be out of luck in the Eminence area. There isn't any decent size town in that general area. You have West Plains to the west which will have decent selection, but is a drive. You could head east a little and base out of Farmington or Park Hills. These have decent accommodations, but are further from Eminence. Salem is where they host the annual 100 Acre Wood Rally and might work for us.

If you wanted to venture down into Arkansas, there are lot of nice roads down around Bull Shoals, but I do no know what kind of accommodations are around there except for in the Branson area.

There is also the Lake of The Ozarks area, plenty of nice roads around there and good accommodations and food. However, I was planning on hosting a gathering there once my car is on the road, so you cant use it LOL.

Here in the 'Twin Lakes (Norfork & Bull Shoals) Area', the best selection of accommodations are to be found in Mountain Home, Ar. They have six or seven major hotels, lots of good restaurants, as well as the usual selection of fast-food joints. Every couple of years, the Nat'l. T-Bucket Alliance holds their gathering here, and those guys turn out some people and cars! There are also lots of fishing derbies hosted here. North of the state line, the Gainesville-Theodosia area has some decent places, but timing is key as they frequently fill up with Bass-Master tournaments! A bit further to the South-West, The Hub in Marble Falls, Ar (scene of the Gathering in 2011) was about as close to perfect for the Locosts as one could get!

If the Hub is still around they also had a massive parking lot next door that was great for our autoX that we had. The Hub is 7 miles south of Henderson on Highway 7. See any coincidence???

I was waiting for someone to mention The Hub. Maybe I'm biased because that was my 1st. Not the greatest place on earth but nice for our group. And the roads were tremendous.

It sure is! http://www.hubinfo.com/ And, as I recall the restaurant (Scooters) was pretty good, too!

Apparently the Hub is still there. I found a website for them. I also found d some reviews on TripAdvisor dated June and July of this year.

For what it's worth...

Just FYI, but Tony's Pizza on Hwy 125 by the Peel Ferry, has increased the size of their facility. Almost double what it was back in 2011!

Yep! Got the pics to prove it, too! Tony'd like to see you back, too! He thought that was fun! Our son still talks about the ride you gave him!
