Can we donate anonymously so there are no "member entitlement" issues?

You can build the most awesome thing in the world but at some point, an 80yr old man in a crx is probably going kick your butt on the track... don't ask me how I know.

It's nice you guys are thinking about this. I don't own the site so don't really have an opinion.

The contribution I would most like to see is along the lines of logo, bumper sticker and flyers. People remark how much attention their cars get. It would be great if people could advertise for our hobby by displaying a logo on a bumper sticker and if we had one of those little flyers, a single sheet folded twice to give three panels or something like that. It would have a couple of pictures of built cars, frames on tables or whatever and some web pointers or something.

That takes a real effort but I think it's worth more to us than money contributions...

I can put a http://www.locostusa.com decal on both sides of the car. I just don't want it to pull away from the traditional locost

Isn't it about that time to donate to this amazing site?

You can't put a price on all the info and entertainment that's offered here.

I hate repeating myself, but geez you can't even give money away on this site!

It has to cost something to keep a site like this up and running, we should share the burden.

IIRC, The moderator accepted contributions for a breif time a few years back. I believe the topic was desolved once it was over. I remember, after the bills were paid, there being enough in the kitty for an evening out with the Missus.

Yes, a number of us did contribute several years ago. I'm thinking it was maybe 3 years ago. It doesn't take much, just a few buck each to cover the hosting fees. I seem to recall there was also a migration issue with the site, or maybe maybe it was a need for more storage area (or another database?) that required an extraordinary expense back then.

In any case, I will gladly chip in again any time. It's definitely money well spent.

Cheers,

I would gladly buy some stickers, custom t-shirts and/or donate anonymously to support this fabulous forum.

Most forums charge just so you can read about little kids talking about how much NOS they want to put into their parents grocery get'r. Or amazing 1000 hp builds that will never happen because they spent all the money on "rims" and not on fixing that massive rust hole in the rear quarter panel.

This really is the best forum out there and I know the FFR guys read these pages secretly under the covers with a flash light. :D Just kidding. But really this is a fabulous forum!

Just no crazy ad's. Can't stand them.... :BH:

Over on slantsix.org we have a "donation link" where you can donate via PayPal or you can send Chuck (the owner) a check or money order if you prefer.

He never asks, but it is nice to contribute. He has had some migration and server issues over the years, so it helps with that.

Last year our donations went to helping a fellow "Slanter" get his car up and running.

It is very much like this site with no ads and very down to earth people.

You aren't far off base about the "FFR" guys. Maybe not them specifically , but the "Hot Rod" guys in general. It's how I ended up here, and building a "7". I was researching some information on IRS setups for a Ford Vicky I was building, and found myself drawn back, and referred back again and again. I finally realized, "This is what I should have been building all along!".

I'd gladly donate it it ever comes up. This site is worth its weight in gold.

Cheers,

I'm in! I love this place. By far the best forum I visit on the Interblogs.

I've been benefiting from this site for 10 years now. I feel like I owe something to some body.
