I would be game to donate for a locost site badge. Anyone who donates would get one. They would be dated by year. Year after year your could collect them if you were to donate yearly. Does not matter amount of donation, no commitment. If you choose not to donate that year, no badge, no big deal.
These badges should be the type you could adhere to the cockpit of your 7 or the wall of your build garage.

You could set a date for donations for badge inventory purposes, plus 5-10% overage for new comers to the site.

Calendars are tough, there are 12 months in a year. Do you only feature only 12 cars or do you feature multiple cars per month? How do you deal with newcomers to the site that want to donate?

Badges would be easy peasy.

Just my thoughts

When I did the Slant 6 calendars I solicited submissions from the board members. If I remember correctly I had one year that was dedicated to drag cars and I kept it to one car per month. Some had multiple photos of the same car from different angles, but it was one feature car per month. Another year I did some collages where a type of vehicle was featured each month (early A bodies, Trucks, Darts, Dusters...) Not sure how you would break that down to get a variety that fit into 12 distinct categories here...

When all was said and done I only sold enough calendars to donate a couple hundred bucks to the forum. I donated all the profits, but I had to price them low enough that people would buy them. Most folks were more interested in just having a cool Slant 6 calendar than specifically donating to the site. Same old adage of "10% of the people do 90% of the work" applies to donations like this too.

Pioneer Pirates are hopefully hard at work with their respective assignments...

They could tell ya, but they'd have ta kill ya!

I like Perry's idea about the badges. I have no problem with the calendar, but have nothing to contribute, so it's not as interesting personally. Unless, y'all want to have people submit photos of the worst welds, best welds, ugliest brackets (sorry JD), best drawings and stuff like that. I might be able to find something calendar-worthy in one of those categories.

Cheers,

Badges? We don't need no steenkin badges.

Prestige is earned here by sharing, helping, and being awesome. Not with a checkbook.

Calendars, however, sound great! If anyone wants to make that happen, I'll bless it and buy the first one!
