Hi,
on the back of the Tachometer there are 3 posts. Sounds like you figured out which is which. One should be tach signal and the others are 12V and ground. Can you tell me what the connections are?
Thanks,
Paul

Hi Paul-
Pardon me for butting in...
Tachometers usually have 4 wires. (Usually!)
White is for the light, would connect to the dashboard light circuit
Red is power to the tach itself, would connect to whichever switched "hot" circuit you wish
Black is ground.
Green is the signal input. Goes to the "Tach Terminal" on the ECU, or in standard ignition, to the Negative post on the coil.

Again, usually. Check the manufacturers website, if you can.

Hi Paul
GonzoRacer is right, also in my case it was easy to identify posts of tach, which came from Corolla GTS and has markings beside posts. Neg, Pos and tach signal .
(which is connected to negative wire on igniter)
Cheers

Almost forgot about this...darn this working for a living stuff.
Maybe I wasn't all that clear. I noticed that Ewhen had the stock Toyota tach. Mine has no markings and I dont have any wiring to figure out what went where. Here is a picture of what I have. Does anyone know which posts are which. Lets call the upper one number 1, then 2 and 3.
Thanks,
Paul
