Anyone have anything good or bad do's or don'ts about these batteries? I bought a EVO2 16 Cell Performance Battery hopfully to start a 2400CC Honda motor guy from store says no problem, but on side of box it says good for 50cc-1800cc? Instruction says good for 500 cold crankking amps. I start my SBC with a 450 CCA battery? Thing is 4.5x4.5x4.5 and 3lbs. Just sounds to good to be true.

Off hand it sounds like a Li battery ought to work OK. As an experiment a couple of us once started a Honda 500cc motorcycle on a 12V stack of ni-cad "AA" batteries!

Maybe you've seen this but here are three customer reviews I found,

I've been tempted to take the garden tractor battery (lead-acid) from my Locost and try it in my Honda 1.5L car.

I bought a Deka Miata AGM battery. Fairly small but still 25#. Internet for about $100.00 shipped but I got it from a local dealer - $100.00 plus tax but had to give a core. 7.75" L x 5.125" W x 7.25" tall. 400 cca at 32 deg.
I do not like Optima (personal preference). Almost went with an Odessey pv925 but over half again on price.
Odessey or Deka are supposed to have an excellent life.

The style of batteries that have fiberglass that is dampened with electrolyte do have excellant life. The one I used in MY FF in the 1980's is still in the car and still works. Varley used to sell them for formula cars all the way back in the 70's. It appears to be the same unit. Mine actually came from a high quality computer UPS.

They hold their charge for a really long time. That's one reason they have high life. You can charge it like once a year, which reminds me...
