Watch the demo video on his facebook page. You'll be amazed at what you can do with this feather weight and small battery.

It's just a couple of posts from the top & it's entitled Sept. 24, 2012 and is a picture that looks like a Red Bull car in the doorway of a shed.

my roomie bought an 8 cell for his bike project. in comparison to my 'light' 11lb braille battery (that weighed almost 1/2lb less than stated!) it feels like it doesn't even exist in my hand. it's insanely light. His first one was DOA - ballistic was awesome on the warranty and sent him a new one right away.

I'm tempted to move to the 12 cell - 3ish lbs and it's rated to about what my braille is - minus the staying power - not that the braille has a ton of standby if I even leave the fan running.

they are the exact same price as a braille ~160 or so on amazon and ~8lbs is nothing to shirk at if you're building a car to save weight - if you aren't then it's just less reserve capacity.

Reviving this thread rather than create a new one....

Looking for a battery, and seeing the incredible technologies for both Braille and Li-Ion battery. Looking at the costs, the Braille looks good, until of course I see the batteries for Odessey vehicles. Hell, I note that they're not that much more than the old lead-acid batteries!

Is there a "sweet spot" for a dependable, affordable battery for a street / track day car? $150-$200?

PS - I have a disfigured middle finger on my right hand from an accident with a heavy lead-acid battery. I can't wait to see them gone....

a good range of braille & ballistic batteries can be had in that price range. my braille has been reliable for the last ~1.5 years now and i've never had it on a charger and have killed it a few times, it reliably starts my car even after it sat unused for ~3 months over the winter
