I would not recommend using the Lucas L549 taillights (MGA - Jag - Triumph - AH etc.) for today's traffic.

I was following a LBC a few years ago (forget the model) and I was shocked at how small and dim the brakes lights were. To make matters worse the low height from the pavement put it completely out of your normal line of sight.

A few months ago I was rear ended by a woman whose foot slipped off of the brake (yeah right) . Thankfully I was in the truck so my damage was very minor. The bumper height and the hitch caused her car to not fair was well. Had I been in the Locost it would have been a totally different story. Big and bright lights are good.

I've always wondered why the LED kits were so expensive. It seems like with a prototype board, some resistors, and some LEDs you could make something.
