I am the stage of wiring my S2000. I have all the original harness. (Actually purchased each as I discovered I needed more). I've read the current articles but had some general questions of those who have already tackled this issue.
1. Can I simply remove the immobilizer board from ECU and bypass all the security issues? I did purchase S2000 column and key but it is not synced with the ECU that I have.
2. Those who have wired these, did you actually remove all the excess wiring like power windows, door locks, washer motors, climate control etc?
3. Main power goes through Electronic Power Steering box, was that still incorporated?
4. All the sensors for emissions controls and vacuum pump, will engine run without those?

I do have wiring schematics and have been using those to determine what all the connectors are but there is a lot not needed.

Any insight is appreciated.

Traced some wires and was able to eliminate the EPS control box.

I just started my F20C last week on a 2x4 "test stand" and it was amazingly simple. Mine is a 00MY but this would likely apply to any AP1.

Yes, just break off the IMMO board and it'll throw a code but should run.

I just connected to 5 wires total into the ECU/harness:

C101-10 -> ECU constant power (12V Hot)
C101-1 -> Ignition Coils (12V Ign)
C101-4 -> ECU switched power - O2 sensor heaters (12V Ign)
C101-5 -> ECU switched power - ECU power and Injectors (12V Ign)
C101-3 -> Starter Solenoid - (12V Start) -- I measured just over 10A on this one, just FYI!

For this test i just used jumper cables to ground the engine and power the starter.

It looks like this would be a good idea but wasn't needed to start:
A24 -> Start Signal (12V Start)

It makes sense to eventually integrate the fuel pump and Radiator Fan outputs (A15 and A20). You'll also need to wire the alternator output to the battery.

I'm using the engine/ECU harness complete but it could be trimmed up a bit. I gave it some thought but it just didn't make sense to me to use any other harnesses for the chassis wiring. There just aren't many circuits. You'd certainly be eliminating more functions than you'd keep.

I got the bug to start it while daydreaming over lunch one day. I picked up a 5 gal gas can at Walmart on the way home from the office and made the few connections listed above. I rigged up the fuel pump on my wooden stand sucking fuel from the gas can and returning right back from the pressure regulator. In total first start was about an hour after I walked into the garage. I couldn't believe how simple it was. This engine was sitting quite a while too but fired instantly. I have a video I'll have to post up.

Once in the car I imagine I'll integrate the oil dummy light, tach signal, and speedo signal. There isn't much else I can think of. I plan to run the stock ecu permanently and don't want a constant CEL, so i bought an IMMO simulator online. There are also simulators for the EVAP system available. I think the last thing i have to figure out is the fuel tank pressure sensor but it sounds like this can be faked with a resistor. In my experience it takes an awful lot of work to replicate the stock calibration with an aftermarket ECU. Especially with cold starts and smooth idle.

Also, here are some preliminary schematics I worked on this weekend. Just a very very rough first go at things, so there are likely some errors. I just threw it all down and have yet to go through and check things over. While uploading I just noticed an issue with the headlights (low or high beams will always be on!). I don't know if it'll be useful for you at all but if you do take a look let me know if you find any errors.

Unfortunately the forum won't let me upload the PDF, but this should work:

Thanks for input. I did get it running using stock ECU. I had to ground relay to so fuel pump would run. Part of problem was a vacumn line. Needed to replace couple fuel injectors and now starts right up.
