Anyone familiar with these? Id like to know if 3 wire means they have a high/low brightness to use as parking lights and signals. I emailed them but I'm about as patient as a 6 year old in Walmart.

Update: pending response from Grand General.

With 3 wires, you can be pretty confident that they are dual brightness. I am using a set that has 2 wires and are dual brightness, but mine don't have a separate wire for the ground, since mine are grounded by the threaded pedestal mounting stud. Of course because the bracket that I mounted mine to is painted (not bare metal), I'll have to add a ground wire with a ring terminal under the mounting stud nut to ground them properly.

4" diameter signal or parking lights would be pretty big for a Locost. Those lights are designed for use on semi-trucks. You could probably find a better match-up elsewhere.

Your licensing jurisdiction may have specific requirements for wattage (somewhat outdated) or luminosity of signal and parking lights. You can usually find those requirements online now searching the vehicle codes for your jurisdiction.

Cheers,

FYI, here are the dual brightness units that I was talking about that I am using on my current project:

I agree with Lonnie-S that 4" diameter would look too big on the front of a Locost.

I used the same ones, albeit not from Speedway. They are just about the right scale for a Locost. Here is what they look like on the nose. I placed them level with the upper control arm mounts to somewhat hide the mounts a bit.

The (very small) issue is that when you mount the lights on the nose, you must provide a plug to disconnect the wiring. Not a big problem to overcome.

thanks guys, but its not a locost . It's a 525hp AWD tube truck

For street legalness, PA needs SAE lamps, Ive looked at those too Mainlandboy. Im hoping to use 4 in the back for brake, turn, tails. And two up front next to 7" headlights, all clear faced with colored LED's
