My donor Miata had anti-lock brakes. Has anyone put anti-locks on a locost? I have the sensors, wiring and control module so this should be straight forward, what am I missing?

The total lack of benefit and the fact that the braking distances will get longer - at least on dry pavement. Plus there is the complexity etc.

The gold standard is adjustable brake bias from dual master cylinders. So if you want the best - go for that. I don't even recommend using a brake booster, but I admit to being painfully old school. :)

You hear that statement periodically but the fact is that in every racing event that allows them in the rules the cars have them. The only place ABS doesn't work as well is in sand or dirt. You want a dam of dirt to build up in front of the wheel. Now they've even got an "off road" button for ABS to make it work better there too.

Since they are already part of the ecu and wiring system we aren't talking a lot of complexity here, but . . .
at some point if you deviate from the stock track & wheelbase the ABS won't work exactly as you're expecting.

How much variation and exactly how it will misfunction seems to be a topic for debate with little hard evidence.

Is the ABS system you've got a 3 channel or 4 channel?

It's not that hard to disable if it doesn't work right so I say go for it. You'll just delete that wire later instead of right now.
