Any tips or pictures of successful parking brake designs using the Thunderbird rear calipers?

Good morning, Mnot. I'm sorry I can't offer any info, but I am waiting to see if anyone has any. I am also using the MN12, T-Bird IRS, but mine is drum brake. However, I am not sure about using the drum brakes, I might look for the disc version. Good luck, Don

The main issue is that the disc cables are only 24" and then go to a 113" intermediate cable. I am going to see if a drum cable can be used with the disc option and run that directly to the hand brake. The drum cables are 46" which is about perfect length to use with the mustang handbrake.

24 inches isn't a problem. There is always a way! Albeit not a Thunderbird brake system My reincarnation has been working just fine for 5 seasons now.

The 43" cables should work just fine. The price was right at $8 each on RockAuto.com I had to remove the spring on the cable and the clip to hold the housing on the caliper side and it slides right in. For my build slightly shorter would have been better 40" or so but this can be made to work no problem. I don't have a driveshaft yet so i i will likely wait to complete this project until i have that in to make sure there is no clearance issues. I might try to incorporate a drive shaft hoop to double as the handbrake mount.
