my tires wore out on the rear, probably due to tuning the computer under boost,

size is 105/55/16.

the tires i took off were pirelli P6's that i inflate to 28 psi cold.

can't get P6's anymore so i fitted P7's, now the car wanders all over the road.

i haven't changed anything else my rear camber is 1 deg negative on both sides and i have 1/8" tow in, i have checked this today, i also checked the front which is 1 degree negative camber, caster is 4.5 degrees and 1/16" tow in, all as before, the temps are within 2 degrees across the tread after a longish drive.

the car seems to float around and change lanes with different camber changes in the road surface, also because i am so close to them, i can here them and they sound just like they are running flat or near to flat, like a rumble but they are not.

any help would be apreciated.

Hi John
Just a shot in the dark here - are they by any chance directional tires? I have had directional tires mounted wrong and they act kinda squirrely.

Hi JD,

not directional but have a note on them saying "outside".

i still have the old tires so i might put them back on just to see if it is the tires or ?

It's probably the tires. That's too bad. My first guess on the noise is it might come down to the shape and positioning of the blocks in the tread. I had a set of tires on a Mustang that did that and after a while you could see the blocks didn't wear evenly either. Then you could see what was going on.

I think the desire of the tire to follow the road camber is called "trammeling". Some tires do this more than others, but I don't remember exactly why. Consider dropping your pressure a few pounds, at least to see what changes...

Ha ha ha, no problem at all John, now we know you're just as normal as the rest of us.

For a moment, just a moment, being mistaken for the CEO of Team Slotus felt pretty good. That was til I pictured myself bent over the 7 working on it and Bubba was behind me ...............

If you're working, Bubba won't be anywhere around. Now, if you were bent over the grill, putting pork chops on a plate, keep an eye out for him. You could lose a finger... Don't get your hands anywhere near his mouth when he's eatin'...
