I have an issue. I have purchased a quick ratio rack for my shortened Sierra in my MK Indy and am having a hard time getting the pinion retaining nut off. The case was punched to prevent it from loosening and I have cut the punch indents so that is not the issue. I believe there is thread locker on it but I can't heat it up as I don't want to melt the rubber bushing around the shaft. I would like to buy another retaining nut so I don't have to be concerned about ruining the original one. Does anyone know a source? Thanks Rich

You need the tool to remove it versus a screwdriver with a hammer. Basically a hinged/scissor action spanner with pins in the ends to engage two slots. I doubt there will be thread locker but there may be a low strength retaining compound.
