So I know all throttle pedals are dependent on ratio due to their length and the amount of cable required to go from closed to wide open throttle, but this is a topic I have never seen discussed here. I am fabricating my throttle pedal and am curious as to what is the distance you designed your pedals for your foot to travel from closed to WOT? My pedal will have adjustable ratios but I'm looking for a starter figure or distance to calculate my own ratio from.

My 07 Grand Cherokee doesn't have the idea pedal to measure lol

On the cool points scale you rank just above Isaac Newton and just under Batman.

Hi BD, the range of motion on my formula ford gas pedal appears to be about 2", maybe 1 3/4". Greater minds then mine built that car, it's probably roughly what you want. There isn't a lot of room in it and your basically lying down so much more motion might be difficult for your foot.

yea sounds about right along what i was thinking. I was going to make the ratios range between 1.75" - 2.50" of pedal play. Thanks for the response!

I started out with just 1 3/4 " travel, great for drag racing, but it was to difficult to control break away while in corners. I changed to 2 5/8" travel, it made a world of difference in control.

haha that would be so cool. Id love to build a cafe racer... it obviously would lack power compared to my R1 (the bike not the car) but man that would be fun to ride

Well i havent drilled anything yet and with my heavy foot this would be a good idea. Im thinking about making several ratios for 1.75", 2.25", and 2.75" travel

Geek, I'll send you a PM, maybe we can work something out. I need the room and don't think I'll get around to them if I build the locost...

Thanks for speaking up!
