I reckon that's because people are so used to reversing cars where the setup is of course wrong. The only car I am aware of off the top of my head that had negative caster for example was the Oldsmobile Tornado.

99% of the time you would be fine with the correct setup, I am just concerned once pendulum momentum takes over it's not recoverable.

These guys built a new one. Lots of interesting things here:

I see now why the rear wheel could turn 90 degrees. Appears the only suspension is from the tire pressure.

It's obviously driveable with care but I'd be concerned about a sudden swerve emergency situation as Cheap suggested.

It would also solve problems with fairing the front end without increasing the frontal area so much.
