Are you designing this with the intention of speed density tuning? or will it have allocations for both a MAF and MAP?

Well this is what things look like. The boards should go out to have the parts soldered on them this week. That will take a week or two, it all depends on how much you want to pay.

My experience as an engineer is mostly with software, often working with people making computer hardware. When I first looked at this project I did some work on the existing software to adapt it to be able to keep multiple copies and different size images in the ECU chip, using TunerStudio. Without an actual engine to run I haven't really looked at that part of the code. I just know that we can set an RPM and it will make lights blink for the injectors and coils.

The fellow who was running this project is now working on some very fancy algorithms for a existing high end ECU product. I think we do at least MAP and maybe the others too. I know we need to do them. As soon as the boards come back I will shift to software and be working on bringing my motor up. I say all this so you know I can work in the software and we have a couple of good folks on this, but am a little embarressed I can't answer very well right now. Refer to comments about Kelly Bundy above!

Here's the site for his project. What I am doing is building hardware for this. This site has very little traffic now, but I expect when motors start to run, it will wake up a good amount.

The site:
http://www.open5xxxecu.org/index.php
My board build thread:
http://www.open5xxxecu.org/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=131

You could ask there in my thread and I think you'll get a quick answer. Or you can wait a little while and I will find out for you. I'm just busy chasing down a bunch of details about all the info I have to ship with the boards to the assember for their robots...

The site is blocked from my work computer, I'll have to do some digging when I get home. Speed density I think is the future. It eliminates the need for a MAF which would significantly keep the cost down. My understanding is that the computer side of things is actually simpler as well, as you don't need to include MAF scaling as well. Just intake pressure and temperature.

speed density is also more boost friendly

Thanks for the links!

That site has that problem a bit because it uses "5xxx" in the name to represent the series of chips it uses. I use a 5634, but there are a bunch of others. The triple x causes some raised flags it seems.

I wonder how many people start the day looking at [NWS PORN] and then land up buying an ECU? Probably need a better business plan...
