After years of planning, collecting parts, reading and daydreaming, I've finally started building!

I'm building a +442E frame using a 2004 Honda S2000 as the donor.

Ill add more info as I go along. Please feel free to leave feedback and suggestions.

Friggin' awesome... I think there may be one or two others on here using the S2K... Nice choice... I'm assuming you're not brand new, but you're new to me... Welcome and congrats on getting started!!!

I found the donor on Craigslist back in December of 2008 from the guys at N1 Concepts. It's seen better days, but it's perfect for my purposes.

The build table is made up a sheet of 3/4" MDF over 2x4 steel studs over 3/4" plywood to create a torsion box. To keep the table level even with my cracked and distorted garage slab, the six legs have levelers I found at Grainger.

Finally I get to build in 1:1 scale and in 3D! I started with the rear side rails and and I'm currently working on finishing up the bottom rails. This brings me up to date. Wish me luck!

Question 1: is that a 510 in the corner?

I don't know why I labeled that question 1 because at the moment, I don't have any more questions... I would like compliment your engine dolly however... never would have thought of that! Awesome progress...!

510? look at that leetle red pickup!?!! I haven't seen one of those since I lived near Guerneville back in the 80's 8)
And a local too, I'm over near the Mormon Temple (that concrete behemoth in the East Bay hills if you haven't been introduced, its worth a trip thru their visitors center).
Vicman NG at Metric Motorsport in El Sobrante (or is it Pinole?) is someone you need to meet, if you want an intro drop me a line, I've known him for years and owe him a lunch. ..

With the drivetrain out of the car, now would be a VERY good time to weigh both the engine/tranny and rear end. The information goes a long way toward working out your total weight, weight distribution, and provides yet another data point in the ever-frustrating what's-a-drivetrain-really-weight thread.

Nice, I had a 2002 S2000 and loved the car. That combination in a really nice
chassis will be killer!!! Half the weight will make a FAST car, well into the three's
0-60. No ugly/ heavy/ complicated turbos hanging off either. Done over again

I would use the S2000 with a dry sump and maybe a DeDion rear suspension
(yes it has advantages over IRS)

Ahhh, datsunjoe, the Safeway down the street wants their cart back. That is a cool way to move an engine and tranny around. Russ
