Breaking news today from AAP;

In what will be a shock to thousands of kit car enthusists, Senator Jon Kyl of the US House of Representitives today issued a statement that will "clean up both the air we breathe and the scurge of the roads".

Senator Kyl went on to say; "We have laws and systems in place to protect the innocent of our roads and the lives of our children yet there is a crack in the system that allows dangerous killer cars on to our roads. This is the 1960 Chevrolet Corvair affair all over again and we need another Ralph Nader to lead the way. We need to clamp down on what is known as 'Kit Cars' and the ilk that are sidestepping a system we built to protect even those that feel they need no protection from the Fathers of our great Nation. Beginning immediately these cracks in our system will be closed and law enforcment officers will be trained to identify and remove this hazard from our society before it infests further."

TJF, you must not have clicked the link in the original post. There's no question of its authenticity, the evidence is only a mouse-click away.

Man, I almost had a heart attack. Also, I once owned a Corvair and I'm still alive. :cheers:

photoman,

I think they need to bring the Corvair back since the advent of ABS.

Only time mine was "danger danger" was in the rain when if first started.

It had those God awefull bais ply tires that didn't help one bit too.

Mine wasn't much on speed anyway, it was wore plumb out but still ran.

Theres 2 types you know, early had the swing axle like VW Bugs and was considered pretty iffy and the '65(?) on had a proper IRS.

Great name by the way :wink:
