I'm going to build another bike engined car shortly,I'm taking the R1 out of the open wheeler and putting it in the middle of my geo metro ice racer. It'll drive front/rear chain driven diffs.
So what size chain would be needed and where would I find blank sprockets and bulk chain?.The stuff from bike shops are model specific so it doesn't help very much plus its a little pricey.Industrial supply stuff seems cheaper in general but I don't know what size chain to use.
This is the geo from last year with a hopped up g13 twin cam and fwd.

Check the yeller pages for "power transmission". W W Grainger, McMaster-Carr, & lots of local distribs carry Boston Gear, Browning, and a dozen other mfrs who make what you need and can engineer it for you.

Decent-grade roller chain costs about a dollar a link. More for a premium O-ring motorcycle chain. Diamond and Tsubaki are popular for racing motorcycles.

Places like Tractor Supply Co. have big spools of #530 chain, which is used on farm equipment as well as motorcycles. Unfortunately, it isn't sealed or bushed, and the piece I put on my old Kawasaki 175 enduro only lasted a month or so...

Some research has shown me a #60 chain to be very close to a 630 MC chain which it seems most of the new big bore bikes have gone too.
I've got some feelers out for pricing now.

Thid chain is the one I found that works best, and the same place will make you sprockets. or get off the shelf #50 sprockets from mcmaster (they sell martin sprockets)

I have used Sidewinder - bad experience with salesman and the chain did not last. I recommend http://www.montecdirect.com/ but they are chain only. Definitely use an oring chain.

Could try emailing Dennis Palatov at http://www.palatov.com/ , I know he is using chain & sprockets on his AWD bike powered cars.

Sorry but the 13b was sold complete with the cams, overbored TB and chipped ecu.A fellow in texas is sticking it in a sidekick, total waste of that engine imo but hey its his now.
I didn't spend much time that engine but they sure are sweet, would make a great locost engine with smallish turbo.

I used them as most Formula SAE teams do... I went with a 530 DID ERV chain. Expensive... but top sportbike chain on the market tensile strength wise.
