Anybody know of a supplier that list steel fenders by radius? Trying to find fenders with a diameter of 28" Most of the places I see have the dimensions as length and height without a clear idea of the overall diameter or radius.
Thanks
Dave

I had the same problem. What I did was take my wheel and tire to Northern Tool and also Tractor Supply and looked at the fenders they had in stock. Neither place had a fender that fit my wheel, but I did get an idea of the size I needed. You should also be careful about the width, since some fenders have more of a crown than others, so they would sit at different heights. Good luck.

my tires are 25" across. I did send them a email asking about the radius and a suggestion to include that info on the page

The problem with a lot of trailer fenders is that radius is not consistant throughout the whole circumference of the tire.
In the example of the previous post the horizontal width is 28 inches, but the vertical height appears to be around 10 inches.
So if you have 2 inches tire clearence at the top of the fender you will not have the same 2 inches clearence in the front or rear of the tire.

So visually a trailer fender may not have the same appeal as a fender with a consistant 2 inches of clearence around the circumference of the tire itself.
The fender can be cut welded and modified for appearence sake, but a person has to consider the amount of work it takes compared to searching for a cosmetically correct fender.

In the end it is personal taste, but something to consider.

Al

Never thought about the radius not constant. I am waiting for a reply from several sites that sell the fenders. I think I will take a cardboard "template"
with me to some tractor supply places this weekend. All i need is to finish up the fenders to start the Street Legal process. If I have to I will use trailer fenders foe now and work on something better after it"s legal

i had the same problem so i made a pair. I spun them from 1/8th aluminum and added a filler piece to achieve the proper width , then added a back or inside piece to mount to the frame of the car. They are about 12 inches wide to cover my 275-19 Falcon tires. I also spun a pair for the front when i was going to run cycle fenders but have since changed my mind and am going to run clamshells that are 3 inches wider than stock to cover my 245-18s in the front. One spun unit could be cut and pieced together to make cycle fenders than are 180 degrees. if you wanted to you could leave the inside of the fender solid to cut down on debree and eliminate the brackets. Just cut the radius shape on the outside to the desired amount. You could even save the cutouts and make enclosed skirts..........I think I did the rears in a 30 inch diameter and the fronts 28 inches.

Thanks for the link. Those are a little cheaper than the ones I have looked at. I think I'll order one just to check it out.

These guys can make any fender you want. Not the cheapest solution, but it will be custom made the way you want it. I bought a set of aluminum fenders for front and rear from them, as well as a couple other members on here. Here's a thread with pictures.

I got my aluminum fenders from fenders n more as well. They are very good quality and are constant radius, to your own specification. I think they are good value.

I have considered Fenders n More. If I have to i will order from them. This weekend i plan on taking a template of the wheels to a few trailer places to see if I can find something close. Right now my goal is to just finish enough to start the title process in Pa. I can do all the fine tuning later. Biggest problem is to stop changing things and make up my mind.

Ordered a set from fenders n more. Waiting for them to come in. After all the reading on bending and hammering the radius I have to admit this is something I would like to learn. Put it down for the next project

Hey, that seems worth it just for the metal and having the bends "started" ...

... an hour with a mallet over a sack of kitty litter and it would fit however you want.
