That's great news, Russ. Maybe Carol & I can swing down to Fayetteville And hook up with you. I've wanted to go to that show for a while, but the last few years have always had some conflict on the schedule. My calendar looks clear this year except for work, but nothing important in the way.

That would be a nice little day trip. I'll check with my social secretary and see if that date is open..Might see you there.

Russ, Sorry but it is just too far to travel for a few hour show. You'll have to do them alone.

I'll be at the British Car Festival in Des Plaines,IL on Sept 11th. It just hit me as I typed that. 10 years ago....(pause to reflect).

Anyway, anyone wanting to stop by, please feel free.......

I've attended this event with my MG's for about 20 years now. This is the first time with the Locost. I wonder how the Lotus guys will react to the imposter?

Hey Chuck. Is that just a car show or do they have a swap meet as well? I am looking for a couple of Spitfire/Herald front uprights for my Formula Ford. There isn't too many English car events around this neck of the woods.

Later, Graham.

They have some vendors of news stuff, usually related to LBC's such as Triple-C and LBCarCo and such. I see that this year LBCarCo will be somewhere else on that day. There are some swap meet type vendors (somewhere between 5 and 10?) with the used, grungy stuff. You never know what they will have. And some participants will just place a few parts to sell next to their cars. If you want me to be your surrogate buyer, PM me with a guide to "what to look for" and the price you want to pay. I'll do a sweep of the field and see what I can find.

If you are looking for a great swap meet, the Chicagoland MG club puts on a true British Car swap meet at the DuPage county Fairgrounds early every Feb. This is where there are many vendors and individuals selling off their spares. They take up 2 buildings. If you have to go to just one, that is the one I recommend.

But.....Sept 11th is supposed to be sunny and 75 according to Weather.Com. It is a great excuse for a drive.

Chuck

Russ,

Sorry, won't be able to make it to the "Brits in the Ozarks Car Show" this weekend. Carol & I had hoped to hook up with you and Jane, but once again, life intervened. Still, look forward to seeing you again sometime in the future.

Carol has been in touch with Linda Kooistra. She and Dr Hess are planning on being there. I understand the show is put on by their home club. And yes, we are already working out the details for the Minn shindig. Anyone else?
