Yup, Saturday Matinee for me was often Tarzan and Cheetah - no one portrayed Tarzan better than Weissmuller.
Yo, Cheap- They were on TV on Sunday afternoons when I was a kid. Good stuff, I loved 'em. Whenever I think of Tarzan, I see Weismuller in my mind. Oddly enough, I now live about 20 minutes from Wakulla Springs, where a lot of the outdoor footage was filmed. The tour boats go by the old curved palm tree he used to dive off of. The palm isn't doing to well either, I suspect it won't last many more years.
I also highly recommend the original novels by Edgar Rice Burroughs. I've read about a dozen or so of them. Hard to find, although Amazon has them for the Kindle. They might be better than the Weismuller movies... Maybe...
