Just thought I'd share a bit of American history.

If you're interested in some pretty dang awesome pictures, some of the ones in the referenced novel are amazing.
It must have taken years for Mr Curtis to get so many photo's in what we today would call exceedingly difficult conditions, hand developed under a canvas tarp on metal plates. ....

Eward Curtis is the most important photographer of the American West. His photographs are credited with making Americans aware, and helping promote the westward migration.
