No, really. Just got the new Octane mag in the mail and discovered the Gatto, built by the Moal hot rod guys from Oakland. The article made it seem like it had just been finished, but after doing a little bit of Googling, it turns out it's a few years old...

Regardless, it is STUNNING!!. It's a sexy mix of 250 SWB, DB4GT Zagato and other styling cues from the era. Living in CA, I've seen a lot of nice cars, and going to countless historic races in Monterey, I've seen A LOT of beautiful cars. But to me, this just might be the "perfect" shape. Hyperbole? Maybe, but these guys nailed it. http://www.moal.com/04_gallery/11gatto/index.php

Like sex on wheels!! Although, if it were a drop head, I probably would be figuring out how best to clean up!!

Something very evocative about that silhouette. The Austin-Martins (and some Ferrari's too) of that time (and even into today for the AM's) are still some of my all time favorites at shows and to watch roll by. Having grown up in LA, I always loved summertime as the Beverly Hills and Malibu crowd would always dust off their toys and drive the canyons on their way to show off at the beach. Summers spent chasing down random older Ferraris and AMs in the canyons of Malibu and simply driving behind them for miles listening to the exhaust notes through the down-shifts and hard accelerations are some of my fondest memories of driving (to date anyway!)! They must have thought that the kid in the little Blue VW Beetle was a nut job!!

Thanks for the pic and the trip down memory lane! I now have some new wall paper!!

Cheers!

KS

To my eye there's a little Lotus Elite in there too. - Nice.
