Concerning wheels, I was planning on using a ball bearing, but there might be something better.

You mentioned your "crappy cell phone pics" a few post ago and actually it doesn't look so much like a crappy cell phone pic (that is unless you still use a flip phone- how 90's) it looks more like a dirty lens.

When my pics begin looking like that I simply clean the lens and presto chango I have good pics again.

It's amazing how many times your finger will find the lens when you are taking the phone out of your pocket.

Oh, and good tip on the bending. It looks very nice.

Looks good. I suggest narrowing the form sides around the pivot, inorder to bend the legs a few degrees past 90. This will pull the top center down snug to the glass when you spread the legs.

I've been working on the windshield frame this last weekend and last couple of days. Predrilled and tapped mounting holes for the sun visors and side wing wind deflectors. Tonight I polished the frame and installed the glass. Test fit it on the 7. I'm happy.

Installed the windshield wipers and tried them out. Oh yeah, I'm happy.

Next project is the grill, maybe something in stainless steel????

carguy1213 - thanks for the tip on cleaning the cell phone lens, who woulda thought?, next thing you know they'll send a man to the moon.

horizonjob - are you asking me what kind of rims and tires I'm rolling on? Not the wheel on the windshield frame bender.

photoman - I used a composite wheel I had laying around that happened to be 4" dia and 3/4 thick.

Yeah thanks Mate, what did you expect me to do if you tell me not too!

Compliments on the build, metal finished cars aren't my thing but that doesn't deny how good the rest of it is :)

...when I pulled off my old grill, I found that the builder had used an 'oven rack'.... worked great (and Locost). The edges were a bit wonky so I welded up a new one, but a great idea.....

So, in other words, your "grill" was a "grill" to begin with... English is such a strange language...

Well today I mounted the rear view mirror amd the sun visors. I do believe I've come to the end of the build. Added up all the bills and rounded up the cost to $6600.

I'll be moving over to the license and title forum and post the process for making the 7 legal in Alberta.
This was definately a blast building the 7 and there is an incredible amount of info on this site along with a great bunch of people sharing the same interest.
On another note.................a friend of mine called me up a couple of weeks ago and informed me he's dropping off his car for me to use as a donor - a 1988 TBird w/V8 and auto trans, hmmm, might build me a Super 7 :D

Perry,

April 21, 2011 was when you started ... a double wow is in order, both for the end result and speed. Not to mention a real single-donor build - but that's three!

Congratulations.

Thanks Lonnie-S, thats the Electric Blue paint code from our PT Cruiser. My wifey choose it, she said she didn't care what color I painted the car as long as it was Electric Blue when I drove it out of the shop

Thanks Warren.
