Hold on a minute. Your build was quick, locost, and high quality. I thought you only get to choose any two. Oh, I see, I only get to choose any two... Congratulations, Perry!

Congrats! Fantastic build. Best of luck with the registration process.

I think you've inspired me to track down a Chevette as a donor for my Honda S600.

Nice build, and grats on keeping it very much "in the spirit".

Thanks Dave - let me know if you need any Chevette donor part info or measurements. Where abouts you at?

The rest of the guys - thanks for the compliments

I'm in Lethbridge.

That would be fantastic. If it isn't too much trouble I'd love a few rear axle measurements - maybe the width between the the two rear drum backing plates. The width of my car is pretty similar to a Locost and I think I'm going to create a Locost style rear suspension (right now I have no rear suspension - PO owner welded a '57 axle to the frame :ack: ). As well how long is the torque tube extension. I'll a little worried I won't have room for a driveshaft. Yours is pretty tiny and I'm not sure a S600 is even as long as a Locost. Thanks!

Just a couple of pics. I fabbed up side wings for the windshield. Used the same material that the airplane windshield is made of.

Great looking car Perry-
But why no roll bar? Looks a little unprotected without it.

The side wings look very professional, Perry. I'll be very interested to see if you find them adequate or if you eventually feel side curtains are required too. There seem to be a number of complaints regarding rocks, bugs, etc. flying into the faces of Locost drivers and passengers on the highway.

Cheers,

Thanks Gonzo appreciate the pat on the back.

Roy, I know, I agonized over deciding whether to roll bar the 7 or keep it along the lines of the first generation Super 7's. I guess looks won over safety.

Thanks Lonnie-S, I will be posting my driving experience.

Nice job! You can have a lot of fun with that car without rolling it...

Doesn't look like they run many hill climbs in your area!

Done with the license and title process today. I wanted to undercoat the insides of the fenders becuase I have 1 mile of gravel road before I hit pavement :BH: . I don't want rocks pitting up the fenders and dinging the the inside and cracking the paint. I decided to use the silver rubberized stuff they use to seal the roofs of RVs. You can brush this stuff on and build it up pretty good. Gave the fenders the first coat tonight and will do another coat tomorrow.

Maybe a test drive on the week end.
