It has taken 5 years, a divorce and many technical challenges but it's as close to "Done" as it ever will be at this point. As everyone knows our cars are seldom 100% complete, that's why we do this. Car was given a "Fit" registration yesterday by the Ministry of Transport of Ontario aka MTO so with that I consider it "DONE" for all intents and purposes. If anyone in the GTA is going through this I can provide a wealth of advice.

To recap, I'm 6'3" so the car was sized for me as well as sized for the 355ci Chevy LT-1 FI V8 converted to coil on plug ignition sitting under the hood matted to a T-56 6-speed both from a 1994 Camaro. Power is roughly 350hp and weighs in at a rather hefty 1600lbs. Car was built from scratch not from a kit but is registered as a kit. The next, and final hurdle will be insurance come spring, that seems like it might be the biggest hurdle.

Not going to finish the aluminium until I get some seat time come spring. Winter project is to get the seats covered and speedometer working.

With 350 hp in a 1600 lb. car, I would imagine so. Congratulations!

Menacing indeed! I anticipate that some degree of menace is going to rub off on you as well. If you're dating a woman that still lives with her folks, I'd avoid parking it in front of the house when you go to pick her up, 'cause Dad is bound to flash back into protective mode. "I don't care that you're 33 years old, young lady, you're living in my house and I forbid you to go out with that...hooligan!"

Congratulations!
It is so good to see one reach the "sorta" finished stage.
Too many slow down and finally give up.
Hooooooraaaaaaay!

A great accomplishment and a very unique vehicle

Oh it's so easy to finally throw in the towel, insurance is going to be a big factor for me no one wants to insure kits and mine doesn't look very polished so they're even more scared of it. There is always facility but at $2500/6 months that's a HUGE investment.

Beware, these gas station stops are never quick, can take up to a half an hour sometimes just to get away and back on the road.

Haha, good point!

Particularly in my case as it isn't just the gawkers but the 6 Dsuz fasteners I need to remove to get to my fuel cell. One of these days I'll put in a remote filler cap. LOL

Will be driving it this weekend, I happen to sort out insurance and plates while I have the seats and intake off the car plus it's raining. :(
