I am finally getting back to work on my car , this is the last (7) I will build , I know I have said this before , but this time I mean it . This is the Gospel according to my Wife and holder of my checkbook .
So I am going to make this one just right for me .
This one will be a V6, 5spd., independent rear differential , disc brakes , manual rack . I am not using the supercharged engine because it's a pain to set up and maintain and I can get more than enough power without it .

This frame has to be a little bigger , mostly due to my wife ! She has taken it upon herself to modify my profile , so now the car has to expand a bit , in all directions , an inch here,an inch there . Next thing you know it's more comfortable and I don't look like a walmartian trying to fit into a size 3 pair of shorts .
The point is this time I am making it fit an older , rotund figured type . I doubt many will notice the difference , but we'll see .

When you drive one of these things on the street, no one is looking at the rotund driver. :D

This is very true , and besides I am too old to care what anyone else thinks , this one is for self-gratification only . I may paint it candy apple red ,(just for the heck of it ) .

Which V6/5-speed are you using?

Cheers,

It's a 3800 Buick L36 series ll , I have the best luck with this one , I am not using the supercharged L67 engine as it's more trouble than the L36 injected model .
I am looking for simple and quick more than "Oh Wow" . Been there , done that .
What are you using ?

GM 3.4 out of a Camaro with the T5 that came with it.

After I get the thing on the road, I have the GM 3500 upper intake, injectors, heads, etc that will make it a 200+ hp car.

Ford 3.8 L V6, TREMEC 5-speed and 7.5" live axle all from a '94 Mustang.

This was my answer to the rear end problem , it weighs 1/3rd the stock subframe and is much easier to work with overall . Everything is chrome moly , so i don't worry about strength and it's easy to work with . I mounted the rear shocks to the underside of the roll-bar mounting plate , which spreads the pressure evenly throughout the rear of the car . I had to do away with the sway bar due to the fact it was so stiff it made the car miserable to ride in . It works very well on the track though !!!

The rear end parts are not finished yet , I still have to round the corners and clean up the overall appearance , then powdercoat the whole thing , control arms ,etc.

I went back to drum brakes mostly because it was easier to balance the proportioning valve , and made it brake more evenly , ( rear end doesn't swing around as fast), Drum brakes can be adjusted , and calipers can't .
