Well I gave up on finishing my 7 this year, having 4 kids leaves little time. However I donated my RX-7 track car to my little cousin and wanted to get back on the track before the race season is over so this led me to purchase a finished 7 from a forum member here. Its a little rough around the edges but I planned on repainting it and new bodywork. After getting it home I started a front to back inspection and found several things that concerned me from a safety standpoint. So rather than putting it right on the road I started stripping it right away and I'm going to be replacing every nut, bolt, and washer and building it back up with fresh paint and body work. Pictures to follow....

I suspect it's a regional pronunciation thing JD. .. He might have meant "Dawg". :mrgreen:

2014/06/21 Got the car home.

2014/06/27 Removed body work.

2014/06/28 Finishing tear down with my K9 helper.

2014/06/30 Primed and ready for paint.

2014/07/01 First coat of gloss black.

Yeah if it weren't for galded bolts I'd have had it all stripped in one afternoon. That's okay though I'll be coming home today with all new grade 8 hardware courtesy of caterpillar.

I got the floor welded in solid today, final coat of paint, brake lines installed, master cylinder installed, pedals in place, steering rack installed. Tomorrow maybe I'll get the front suspension back on and put the axle in so it'll be a roller again.
