It's been a long time since I've made any updates on here. I guess getting married and having kids will kind of put a wrench in the car building works, but I've made a bit of progress again. I got lights mounted and wired last summer, then fenders mounted in the fall, and now it's painted. I applied for my VIN and it is waiting for an inspection. Hopefully it will be on the road this summer.

Thanks guys. It made a huge difference putting a bit of paint on it. I never did give up on finishing it, just had to put it on hold for a bit. I have a couple new helpers that make things take a lot longer, but its pretty cool having them around. This was from last summer pitting a different carb on it. My son was 1 1/2 at the time. Hot wheels in one hand and a tap handle in the other. Hope everyone else's builds are still progressing too. I guess a lot of the ones I was following g are probably done by now.

I heard that sucker fire up a few years back, do you still need earplugs to drive it?

How is your build coming along? I see you moved a bit further south. That should make sourcing parts a bit easier for you.
I built some baffles for the pipes so it's not too bad if you don't have your foot in it, but it's still pretty raunchy. One guy that I showed it to for a potential inspection said I needed to quiet it down a fair bit first. It's definitely not as loud as your average straight piped Harley though. Hopefully I can get it inspected and on the road soon.

Hence why everyone keeps preaching to upload your pictures directly to this site and not to a 3rd party picture site.

Kristian, I love the orange color you painted your car. What is it exactly? Is it a custom paint mix?

Thanks. It's just orange Tremclad rust paint. I think it's the same as Rustoleum in the US. I think it said real orange on the can. I thinned it with lacquer thinner and sprayed it with a cheap spray gun from the Canadian equivalent of Harbour Freight, Princess Auto. The first couple coats I sprayed too light and got lots of orange peel, then the third coat I put on a little too heavy and got some runs. It's an ok 50/50 paint job though, looks good from 50 feet away or at 50 mph.

I'd love to see any updated videos you have. I looked at the two on YouTube, but they were taken before you had the body and paint on. I'm doing a 3.8L Ford V6, so I'm keenly interested even though mine is the 90 degree Essex versus your 60 degree Cologne/Vulcan.

Not sure if you've seen this video or not, it's from last summer when I had bodywork on it, but still no fenders yet. I have a few more on my laptop that I can upload to YouTube in a few days. I will link to them here when I do.
