So I'm still trying to work out a 102" total length car. :roll:

The question ,what would be a good donor ? Not looking for a lot of power. Something in the 90 to 120 Hp. range ? I'm just not very familiar with what is out their. :oops:

Car will be a support/ recon vehicle for my RV. Getting food,see the sites.

I have been looking a the the Poliars RZR and may go that way ? But just can't see not building something ! What a dumb ass ? :roll:

I would be inclined to seek out a mini or mini metro engine with an auto box. Plenty of power in a compact unit and no complex electronics or fancy gearchange mechanisms.

How about 1.6L Honda fwd drivetrains. Small, cheap, with great aftermarket support.

I'd also consider a late 90s Ford escort ZX2 with a zetec and 5 speed. These can be driven home for about $1000, have a narrow track, and are very plentiful.

The guys that bought my 94 Subaru Wagon turned it into a Polaris Razor thingy. Pretty damn cool if you ask me.

More betterer than that, 90% of all 4 cylinder, if not all, water cooled VW engines share the same bellhousing pattern meaning once installed you have an amazing choice of engines to install from 1.4 Polo to 2.0 turbo etc.

1ZZ Toyota probably the lightest, cheapest 120hp you can get - just ask Lotus.

If too big, then Suzuki G13B series, besides Suzuki Cultus, came in your Chev Geo I think(?) - like the Toyota, super lightweight and strong 80 - 100hp engine.

For ultimate smooth, easy, lightweight and cheap hp, Toyota 1MZ 3.0 V6 is by far the most overlooked conversion engine out there, bewilders me why. Comes with a standard 61" track also if need.

So,let me get this straight. Find a VW 5 speed car (1990-2000) ? Use it for the drive train donor. Then find a 2ZZ for the motor ?

Twas only a thought, small buggy, cheap and quick build without any complications. You all know how some of these projects can drag on for years and run massively over budget .

Nope. I wrote almost any VW 4 cyl can be used on any VW 4 cyl gearbox.

For using a Toyota ZZ series you need a ZZ gearbox.
