I am familiar with the Locost and tinkering in general, no so much with 3.0 liter ironblock Toyota engines.
But I have a feeling that I will.

With a heavy motor and the willingness to really use it those bottom engine bay tubes are under a lot of stress. It's a big help for the frame if that long diagonal on the side of the engine bay is 2 diagonals meeting near the engine mount. I did some numbers in an FEA program the other day and the stress on those bottom tubes was right up to the yield point with a heavy motor. I think that was with a 500 lb. weight on one side, which you would see under acceleration and over bumps pretty easily.

You could add another diagonal to make an "X" or partial "X" and then drop a tube down from the center of the "X"...

It will be a nice sounding Locost, did you get tired of Turbos?

Horizon, yes those lower frame rails flex a lot. Much more than any motor mount would. I leveraged motor with jackstand handle to inspect motormounts and was in awe how much the support points moved. Since then the motor has been stressed member of the frame. This second one will be done the same from the beginning. Well balanced Miata motor did not transmit (new) vibrations to the frame, I would think smooth six will be same or even better.
I like turbo's a lot and that is the main reason for engine choice.

The last straw breaking the resistance was participating DIYAutotune Megasquirt day this autumn and witnessing this:
