Reading through some older threads got me thinking. There are some very good engines for our builds. (Hayabusa, FJR1300/1200, CBR1100/1000, GSXR1000, GSXF1250)

But what engines would you think would be good but really aren't and for what reason.

Example, Gen 1 V-Max had a weak transmission.

Is there a brand that seems to be better/worse than others STOCK?

I am looking at liter V-twins.

RC51, Aprilia Tuono/Millie, SV1000 ect. Just had me thinking.

I'm still waiting for someone to bolt a fat S&S V-twin way up front and build a Morgan-style Locost. At anywhere from 1.5 to 2 liters it would have plenty of zip, plus you'd have almost all of the "hood" space available for luggage, etc.

A BMW flat twin or Honda flat four or six would be even better; they're already set up for a driveshaft.

double tap again... for some reason the "back" button here takes me back to the message editor instead of back to the thread.

The only way a Harley motor is going to have plenty of zip is with the help of gravity by driving off a cliff
