By Team Slotus standards, your test drive was bloody boring... Uhh, strike that! I meant it was a great success!

Hey iffin I passed Team Slotus standards, I'm good to go!

Here's another video the wifie took, the one thing that I sure notice that even with the top making some flapping noise, you can hold a conversation in the cockpit. The top bellows upward above your head about 4" due to the air speeding across it creating a low pressure area, the side curtains do the same thing. At the time of this cruise it was 12C (54F) outside temp and it was very comfortable in a light summer jacket, with no hat on the ole noggin. Yesterday I tried the heater while cruising and actually had to shut it off because it got too warm in the cockpit.
Adding the convertible top to this car build definitely extends the Super 7 motoring season in our part of the world.

Went for a 120 mile run today with the top up. It was 17C (60F) with 25K (15MPH) wind from the south and it was GREAT! Had to let the corners of the curtains down a bit to get some cool air into the cockpit. Had the Monster Superstar cranked with some Jimmy Buffet. I put some O-rings on the zipper pull tab/sliders to keep them from driving me nuts 'jingling', that quieted them down.
Tonight wifey helped me roll the top down so that I could make a pattern for a 'rear bag' that will enclose the top when not in use.
Slowly it's coming together.

Which album? Volcano is one of my favorites, although the '78 live album is hard to beat... There's others, I could go on, but I'll spare you...

Oh, and the top looks great too!

I think it was 'Take the weather with you', but don't hold me to that. I am music dumb, wifey is the expert on that subject.

All I know is that when I listen to Trooper's "Boys in the bright white sports car" my speedo usually is 20mph over the speed limit.

Hi Perry
how has the roof held up, you must have just had winter as ours is just starting down here. Is there anything you would make differently if you did it again?
I have just typical doors but no roof on mine and find that the vision is greatly reduced with them on

nice job though, looks like my winter project
cheers

Hey John
The top has been great. No issues with it. Wifey and I are in the mountains right now cruising. Yesterday we used it with the top up and side curtains off, no problem doing 60-70mph, easy to hear each other talking.
Today we're going topless - and loving it..............

Hey Perry, just spent some practice time recovering my seats, came out great. Another quick question, what material did you use for the top, was it just "normal Vinyl" from a big box shop or a particular fabric?
cheers

Another option for Top material is Cortex. Used in the boating industry.
You can typically find material left over from large boat projects on E-bay.
