Yo, Tommy!
Now THAT looks like a real handy bit o' kit!

Neighbors cat howling at 2AM? No problem...
Wild boar in the backyard, threatening your dog? No problem...
Drive thru at Burger King messes up your order? No problem...
Need to take over a small Caribbean island? No problem...

Need bail money after any of the above? Problem.

(Refer back to that comment about a "dysfunctional family".)

JD ".50 Cal" Kemp

@TooBusy

Hey, could I get one of those droids for my Neighborhood Watch folks? Four grenade launcher tubes and a belt-fed, light machine gun, oughta keep those skate boarding-riding, juvenile delinquents around here in their proper place.

Cheers,

You wouldn't want your droids to fail in the field would you? We provide a complete package of combat testing. The deluxe terrorist testing package is extra. High schools need the money.

On a (somewhat) more automotive note, I'm all loaded up... Let me re-phrase that... The CAR is all loaded up and ready to go to the Wiregrass autocross tomorrow in Dothan. I'll be picking Earl up bright and early (the time of day, not saying Earl is bright.) and off we'll go.

The Slotus cranked up and drove onto the trailer under its own power. I took that as a good omen. I also managed to get it in the trailer relatively straight, even though I was all by my own-self without TWWTFM here to do her famous hula dance to guide me in. I took that as another good omen.

Then TWWTFM came home and I grilled a us a big ol' sirloin for dinner. That is ALWAYS a good omen, whether you're going racing or not! So now, after dinner, I guess it's fair to say that I'm "all loaded up" as well. (Urrpp!)

Stay tuned, we're gonna do something soon. Good, bad, bit of both, who knows?

You (obviously) find them in NJ. Dismantalus comes by it honestly, while I am a transplant from other parts, but the location is NJ all the same. Why they get sent to you is a valid question though. Punishment for all the fun of Slotusing is my guess.

Which brings us to a pertinent point. Have a ball this weekend, share the shenanigans, and take pictures and videos. We are going to get Perry's weather and will need appropriate Team Slotus entertainment to make it through.

Ya know, there are times I consider setting fire to that god-forsaken car and pushing it over a cliff...

On my third timed run, the fuel pressure went to zero, car coasted to a stop. The hose clamp holding the little stub of fuel line that goes between the fitting in the top of the fuel cell and the fitting on top of pump had let go. I reached into the tank and (by braille) found the hose clamp in question, took it off the hose and replaced it.

Cranked the motor, it ran for a few seconds and shut off. Fuel pressure had dropped to about 10 psi. Further investigation showed the same short piece of fuel line had split. Searched the trailer, found none... One of the guys there had 3/8 fuel line with him, I stole an inch or so and again by braille, took off both clamps and replaced the line.

I should also say the day was cold (48* is cold by Dothan AL standards- and mine!) and windy and spitting rain. There was a very low turnout for the event, like 24 drivers. By the time I did all this repair the timed runs were over. James got to do some fun runs and gave me some good input on the car's handling and behavior, but he didn't really get to drive in the autocross.

Then we ate barbecue in Dothan and came home. At least the BBQ was good...

It's also a good thing there aren't any cliffs around here.

I'll be back later after I "Reset" my sense-of-humor button...

 (Not really...)

That's the thing about a home built car, the little things never seem to end. Still more fun that sitting on the couch!

Do you recall which kind of fuel line you were using?

Not all is rated to be submerged.
