Thanks, guys! I'm always up to try new sausage, but the missus can be a bit fussy about the heat thing. The local Supermart just started carrying Johnsonville Andouille, so I guess I'll give it a try. I'll let you know how it turns out. Thanx again!

OK shut up guys!!! You have kicked in my hot cooking gene and now I have a pot of chili on cooking.

We've had absolutely frigid weather here the past week with temps not getting out of the 70's so it really is chili weather.

I was perfectly fine with my wife's plan for a salad for dinner till you guys started in on me.

I'd love 70. Here's what I got up to this morning. Global warming can't get here soon enough.

So how'd I get from Cajun to Chili? If you've seen Sesame Street you know they both start with the letter "C". And around here Mexican trumps Cajun. So not only have you made me go off my diet but you've cost me a trip to New Orleans.

I was doing so good on my diet. I'd only gained 6 pounds.

I'm thinking this will be my new avatar. (resource limit reached)

Salad for dinner? Damn, I'm so glad we saved you from that awful fate! Love that Cajun cookin' but you'd get no complaints from me about a big batch of chili simmering in the crock pot.

That's a good one! I'm stealing it...

Kristian, I feel for ya, Bro... I can remember many, many mornings in WV when I had to get in the well logging unit and haul donkey off to some rig out in the boonies in the cold and snow and mud... Makes for some great stories now, but it was hell then. You're a good man...

Sorry for the hijack, JD, but we're talking sausage, so I know I'll be forgiven.

@benny_toe
Larry,

Call the Golden Steer. They have all kinds of sausage that they make in house, and it's the real deal. They might have Cajun as well - don't know for sure.

I love real mince meat pies and they make the best mince meat I've ever tasted. Everything there is top quality. It's worth the drive if they have what you want, or even to just to see what they have. You'll like something there, I guarantee you.

Cheers,

I think I caught the latest episode of JD's build on the Cooking Channel and that wasn't a bad thing.

Cheers

Thanks, Larry, that's right gentlemanly of ya. But my build log is kind of a "load" anyway. Iffen you know what I mean...

In other news, we're looking at buying a used RV. Got one in my sights now, negotiating with the owner. Stay tuned. I might just drive the thing to Bellevue and get some sausage!

Peace, Love and Andouille-

Hey JD!

Driving your newly acquired RV to Bellevue is a great idea. Met up with the Seattle Locost Users Group. Be great fun.

And on the way be sure to stop at Drago's in Métairie for some grilled oysters and some of the best Gumbo around.

Peace and bon temps.
