I have tried to find a normal job here on and off for years.
Moved seventy miles east and everyone I meet wants to hire me! :D
Cannot take any of the offers until I clear the deck at my old location. :BH:
Going to be another couple of months, but once I get clear I will have both steady income and free time again, what a concept!
Still want the body, just not quiet ready.

Hey Roy,

The BAT 11 is nice, but the interior is a bit much for me. I also doubt it will be at "Locost" prices by the time the auction ends...

How's your 7 coming along? When you're ready, I may be able to take it off your hands. 8)

The alloy center and painted ends looks wrong to me.
Interior details such as digital gauges and CF seats also clash with the vintage nature of the car.

I don't think I would have accepted $25K either.

Body kit, Elan donor bits, labor, materials, should equal around $35K.

Like that other car shell for sale here, I don't think people get it. Ebay quickly shows what the world thinks something's worth. For the seller to argue that everyone else on the planet is wrong is a bit comical. I mean, who's the seller arguing with exactly? Either:

1. Set the price you demand and be prepared to wait, a day, a week, a year, or forever.
2. Set no reserve and find out what it's really worth, right now, and go on your way.

As a someone once told me after something broke, with everyone arguing why it couldn't happen, he said: "No one knows anything; the result speaks for itself." As it does it this case - the asking price is too high, and/or the seller hasn't waited long enough for someone who agrees with his price to find it.

I would argue that it is not that simple.
feeBay and BAT are not that great as arbiters of value, lots of bottom feeders there and few serious "End" buyers.
At the other extreme are the live auctions that have become showplaces of fools overpaying for bragging rights.
Another venue might net the seller $50K, it depends on who happens to see it and how much they are willing to pay for their new shiny toy.
Regardless of sales venue the car does have a basic inherent value based on parts and labor.
If profit is a consideration the sale has to exceed that basic value by a significant margin.

Back in the late 80's I attempted to sell high-end "Kit Cars" for a living, maybe I should write a book?
In the kit/specialty car world charlatans and quick-buck cheats are common on BOTH sides of the table.

If I had not just dropped ALL my ready cash on a house buy I would have done it already.
Come January I should be free to get a job again.
I've already collected some parts and drawings to do a build.

Hi all,

Just refreshing this thread.

Body and plexi pieces are still available. Will be moving the family to WA in a few months and really don't want to have to bring it with me. I'll listen to all offers.

Thanks!

Joe
