Most of the time I am in such a hurry to finnish build that I just piece together brake lines form auto parts store lines. This time I was thinking of buying 3/16 ×25' coiled line? They come with the short fittings.
My question is what type do you guys recomend? Seams like a lot of choise? And were to buy Ebay, Speedway ect. Thanks

Definitely, the gold std In my mind is CuNiFer line. It is sold by FedHill and others. It forms the flares nicely and is rust resistant throughout the metal, not just a plating and/or plastic coating on the outside, leaving the inside to rust away. Further, it can be bent to shape easily by hand if necessary without kinking. Well, it probably isn't kink-proof, but I've never kinked it. Buy it anywhere you'd like. If you are into show cars, it can be polished wit a shiny bronze color and clear coated to limit tarnishing. I've used both CuNiFer and Poly coated steel and definitely for a few extra $ (and I mean only a few) the CuNiFer wins in my book.

Agree with Chuck. I used Fedhill's lime and am happy as can be. Super easy to work with, bends by hand, and flares nicely especially with their 'loaner' flare tool. Take a look.

Benny does the Febhill tubing require there flair tool?

I usually just buy a coil of green coated line from pepboys and do AN flares. Ridgid makes some nice flare tools that won't break the bank too much (in SAE and AN).

Sorry did not see name Larry do I need to sign in to there web site to get tubing prices?

I have had to use the auto part pre made lines a couple of times just for convenience, they corrode like crazy, but if you hit them with POR chassis paint first they last well.

Hi Jim,

To get the price click on the item desired and the description page that comes up has the prices for the various packages.

I did my lines about 10 years ago. Then they offered to loan you the tool, for a length of time I don't remember, for free as long as you bought their lines. As I recall I also bought most of the fittings from them. You had to return the flare tool at the end of the time limit or they billed you for the $200+ that the tool sells for. I've looked over their website this morning and didn't see where that was still offered. I do recall having to do a few flares after I returned the tool and they went well with a good quality over the counter flare tool. I've seen several of your build posts and your fab skills are impressive so I don't think you would have any problems doing the flares.

I think you will really like the Cunifer lines.

Well inviting you to one of the rare Puget Locost User Group meetings would be futile. Think we got together at Seattle Tom's house a couple of years ago. Just might get another going in a year or two.

I haven't dealt with Fedhill in at least 10 years. If you go with them I would like to hear about it.

I also used CuNiFer line that I bought from FedHill and I really liked how easy it was to work with. I used my normal flaring tool on it...it never occurred to me that it might require a special tool (does it?)...and the flares all came out good and were easy to form. Like when I've flared steel brake line I was really careful to make sure that tube was cut square, that all of the garbage was filed/sanded off of the tube and that the inside had been reamed before trying to flare.

While it bends easily by hand I found that I needed some help for tighter bends so I made a pair of bending pliers by drilling a hole the diameter of the brake tubing in the jaws of a cheap set of pliers (surprisingly hard to drill) and chamfering the hole. They really made tight, small radius bends easy. They really helped with final adjustments once the lines were installed on the car. I borrowed the idea of the brake line pliers from someone on the internet, don't remember who or I'd give them credit for the idea.
