Show me your PDM solutions

As I go through the project planning, I have not yet addressed a PDM solution. Since I am not using a donor car, I will have to come up with something. Since I plan on using Tunerstudio and an arduino dashboard, I was wondering if I could also use on for the I/O for lighting and running relays/mosfets for power. also interested in seeing how people are doing their power distro the Locost way.

Not a PDM, but overall happy with the set up. It's a Leash Electronics Pro Street relay board (on the right) and a couple of Leash dual relays (with integral fuses) on the left. The left relays run the EFI, the box on the right is chassis. It has relays and fuses under the cover, as well as flashers for turn signals and hazards.

I saved my donor box from a 1994 Mustang. It's a little large and I haven't placed it yet, but it will cover all I need and more in terms of circuits.

Lonnie, unquestionably the best combination of lo-cost and reliability. I find a lot of aftermarket fuseboxes are pretty cheesy and won’t give them a second look. OEM is typically more robust.

Aside from ECU, I am not trying to go thousands into the electrical side of the project. I will probably run an Arduino Dual screen dash with touchscreen. Would like to have a classic tachometer though, and may even have a way to hide the screens when I want less digital experience. Some sort of Arduino based lighting controller, and relay controller would allow for removal of many switches and relays.

Using an OEM box occurred to me but seemed possibly even more complex.

The Leash boxes aren’t cheap, but they're not thousands and are seemingly well made compared to other aftermarket stuff I've had my hands on.

All of the manually operated switches in my car:

Master/Start Combination
Lights
Hi/Low beam Combination
Hazards
Horn
Turn Signals

There's not much to get rid of. I'd be curious how a PDM is going to reduce the number of switches and still be user friendly/tactile.

From what I have seen, the touchscreen interface from tunerstudio has a ton of functionality, I will have to look further into it. I want to strike some sort of classic moden ballance. I want full CAN data custom Dash. But also the ability to just have a simple tach with no distractions when needed. Will just have to see how I can strike that ballance. Any dash work is probably 5+ months away, but I could get the arduino and screens to start setting it all up earlier

This sounds like an affordable option. I used a hot rod wire harness when I re-wired mine. I think I would use this if a was doing it again.
