Yup, gotta protect those soft squishy parts. :ack:

Torqued up the safety hoop bolts and put fluid into the transmission. Still need to torque the driveshaft flange bolts to 75 lb. ft.

Started making up the front chassis harness. Need to figure out where/how to poke holes in the firewall and scuttle floor to bring it "home."

Transmission wires (neutral, reverse and speedo) need to be extended/organized and brought into scuttle, too. Then footwell inside panels can be installed. Lots of layers.
Cheers, Tom

Now just hope you never have to pull that assy out again.

Congrats on 100 pages.

Congrats on 100 pages.
Thanks, Justin. Although 100 pages in the Builders Log might be a dubious distinction. Far better if it were in Locost Lifestyle :)

Yup, hopefully the driveshaft is in there for the duration. I don't think my back could go through a remove/install again.

Laid out Front Harness 2.0. Seems version 1 would have been tough to fit up. Will test fit 2.0 when some more spiral wrap arrives.
Cheers, Tom

Front Harness 2.0 worked out much better than the first version. The second attempt used braided wrap instead of spiral wrap and added extra length for all the breakouts. Terminations will be added after it’s fitted up.
IMG_2773-1.jpg
Mounting the harness to the chassis started at the left headlight mount, ran under the upper cross-chassis tube and then aft along the inside of the upper right chassis rail, through the firewall and then up into the scuttle. Along the way it passed through four too tight grommets with the help of some red rubber grease (thanks for the tip, Perry.) A little lube makes a big difference. An insulated/reflective cover was added where passing near the right header. Lots of cushion clamps fitted to welded-in mounting points hold it in place out of sight and harm’s way.

Eventually 2.0 erupts into the scuttle and joins the growing rats' nest of wires to be dealt with another time along with their business-end connections.

Tom,
What issue did you have with the spiral wrap?

Walt, the good spiral wrap I normally use has a relatively thick wall section. This made the harness too fat to get through the grommets that were in place, even with the lube. I had the thinner braided wrap on hand so used it. It's prettier, too, although mostly hidden.
