Ok.... I'm trying to wrap my head around the steel gauge and all.
I'm not sure what engine I'll wind up using, I'd like to have the option to even stick a V8 in there someday.
I see a lot of people using 1x1 16ga. Do you think that would be sufficient? Should I go to to 1x1 14ga.? Or 1.5x1.5 16ga.? Or just 1.5x1.5 16ga. for the major frame components, and 1x1 xxga. for the rest?
Any input is greatly appreciated. I tried searching and reading back through the threads, but I got so much conflicting info it set my head spinning lol.
Thanks!

Re: A few general questions
Short answer: just copy what others have found to work. Since you want to include running a V8, look for V8-based builds here and see what they used, Lonnie's build comes to mind. Keep in mind that the overall strength of the car is probably at least 50% due to the paneling riveted to the chassis.
