My name is Dr.Jeff and I’m interested in buying a Locost 7 of any variety that would make me feel like #6 from The Prisoner Series while driving. I’ve got mechanical skills but no car building knowledge. My 22 yrs. Old kid is a mechanical genius, fast learner, IT expert. He could help a lot I also have a nice neighbor who is a highly trained mechanic I would pay to help/do essential parts of build and has welding tools and vast collection of mechanics tools. For the sake of SPACE and TIME I would like to buy a partial kit WITH MOTOR INSTALLED; INSTALLED TRANS WOULD ALSO BE GREAT but NOT ESSENTIAL. If TRANS INSTALLED MUST BE MANUAL as Automatics are only for losers. ANY DONOR MOTOR ACCEPTABLE, and WOULD LOVE TRAD RIGHT SIDE STEER/SHIFT. OPEN on TRANS VARIETY. 2 SEAT VARIANTS OPEN. Even though I wanna look like The Prisoner, my past ownership of an MG made me fall in love with the power and movement of British Leland, even if their electronics sucked. The damn MG’s sheer maneuverability was better than sex. The Lotus isn’t Leland, but its power, sound, movement, and unsurpassable aesthetic beauty make it a constant object of my desire. If anyone can offer advice on finding one such replica or tips on building, including if I should buy the original seminal book on building, I beg you to email me or Text: 215-990-2350.
Thanks,
Jeff :lol

what is your location? There are a lot of builders here that are willing to help and give you a lot of suggestion with a build.

Welcome!
If you haven't done so already, start by reading this thread:

Make an honest self assessment of everything from skills, budget, space, how much noise you can make, time you have to work on a project, overall time you're willing to take, etc. Also, try and decide, is it the build that interests you, or the end result of having and driving the car? It may be both, but try and think it through.
You can find partially completed projects out there, buyer beware, of course. But something that was once running and needs a few things may be a good candidate. An abandoned project can either be a bargain, or a huge can o' worms.
Something like this looks interesting:

Here's another good forum thread to follow. They do a weekly posting of cars for sale. Mostly focused on Lotus and Caterham, but the occasional Locost shows up.
