gas filling too slow - need ideas

Post by HarmalloyX »

complete lack of surprise that this didnt work. it backed up way too fast. it took forever to just get one gallon in even after i vented the tank. what are some options to make if faster?
obviously the air line needs to be redirected so i stays up and drains into the tank.
an aftermarket filler cap that i can install directly into the top of the tank?, theres some sort of thing that i am guessing is an anti siphon device that i could try to break off. or maybe make that 90 bend bigger somehow ? theres no room for less of an angle but i could make the pipe ridiculously wide at that point.
thanks

The restricted filler backs up the neck to dump fuel into the tank vent line which can't drain.

Use a 90 degree mandrel bend at least as big as the tank filler opening so it doesn't back up as easily.
The tank filling vent ("air line") should be high enough on the neck that the end of the pump nozzle extends below it so fuel cannot enter the line.
The filling vent should not have any low spots between the neck and the tank pump-sender assy.
