Where to get a new front nose

Post by Idontremember »

I bought a locost and i love it. Worked on the engine a bit (pinto 2.0) but now i wanna change the nose to something more fitting. The current nose is ugly for me and wondering if someone has a nose they are selling ?

Firstly, welcome to the build site.
Tell us a bit about yourself, where you're at, and pics your locost.

The answer is - or was - https://www.kineticvehicles.com/collect ... body-parts. The business was sold a while back and while the new owner said things will continue as normal, he rarely posts. Given that our site here is a prime source of customers, one would expect a response from Kinetic that he has what you want. The previous owner was much more attentive to posts here and would quickly respond. Just sayin...

I bought this business so it would still be available to people, As you know Jack was done with it and retiring, and nobody else would step up and keep the parts going.

My local fiberglass guy is closing, so what I have in stock will be all there is until I can find someone in driving distance that is willing to make the parts.

About 3 inches wider per side

I think Tibi wants to know the width since he can't compare it to an original to know what plus 3 inches would be. Easy to check by putting the mounting flange on the floor, then measure from the floor to the top of the fender for total width.

Thanks Miatav8. You are correct, I was thinking how to ask for that dimension. Dimensions matter, because not everybody builds the same car, same wheel width. For example, I have 225 tires at the front.

If push comes to shove and you are unable to find a new fiberglass supplier, please reach out to me. I have some background in aviation composite work and live in an area where fiberglass is readily available. I’m skeptical the volume of sales are at a level that makes sense for business investment but losing the main supplier for body panels In North America would be another nail in the coffin for Locost. I don’t want to see that happen.
