I got the new rx7 stub shafts today and they are huge compared to the old ones. I thinks I also came up with a solution to my flange problem, Im just gonna machine a ring 6.5mm larger than the od of the CV flange on the shaft side to a press fit then weld it on the cv flange to accomodate the larger bolt pattern of the turbo II stubs :D

I got my engine and harness this morning for $250 :headbang: :headbang: its just the long block but Im going to build it up into a 300hp turbocharged beast :drool: :mrgreen:

My SR20det may be too far gone to use, its all kinds of fubar internally. If you need various parts from it to make it turbo, I have a bunch (all freshly cleaned up and organized somewhat). If I figure out what I'm doing with my engine I'll let you know. I also might have a tranny for you if you don't have one.

It definitely is, now I'm just worried about whether my proposed mod for the cv cup/flange is going to be strong enough, but I think it will be since the steel I'm putting on there is thicker than oem and I may heath treat the whole assy after I weld the ring on.

I got the cv flange rings cut today thanks to on of the guys at my local custom motorcycle shop who was kind enough to let me use their plasma cutter. I got the rings roughed out with the plasma and I'm going to finish them with a carbide burr and a grinder. then I am going to balance them to reduce the risk of vibration. They will be welded to the flange once I get them to a press fit. BTW I made them from a 18x10 piece of .250 cold roll I got for 15$

I ordered my trans today from a local buddy of mine its a KA24 trans (longer gears) that only has 35,000 miles in it :D , I also got some 94 CV shafts too but one of them did not have the guts in it or the back cap :furious: so I'm calling the salvage yard tomorrow after my Engineering Graphics 3 test :ack:, so I'm hoping they're going to be nice and swap it out for another so I'm not out $75 since I can't seem to finds a supplier that just sells the internals of the cv joint :x , I'll get it worked out somehow,... I hope.

IIRC, the KA tranny does not bolt up to the SR. I think the bell housing is different. You will probably need an S13 bellhousing to bolt up your SR to the KA tranny.

Have you checked out bolting it up yet?

The trannys are actually identical other than the bellhousing.

Unfortunately for me I found that out after I bought the trans, but the good thing is that is is a low mile unit and I found a bell housing.
