Its about time for another Atlanta area locost builders meetup. Weconway suggested doing it at my townhouse in downtown atlanta. I now have a completed car, and live with ival whom has just begun building his. We could meet up again for breakfast/lunch at the Varsity as we did last time, and then proceed to my garage for the requisite shop talk. As of right now everything is completely open to suggestions. If you are interested, please post a date that would work for you.

I'm gonna throw out early lunch at the Varsity on the January 17th or 18th, as the Autorama custom car show is that weekend at the (nearby) Georgia dome.

I dont know how warm it will be for driving, but at least now we can meet inside a garage....

People nearby that I know of- weconway, solder_guy, want2race, ival...

Here here!

Never heard of that custom car show. Sounds cool, but I'm not available this month. Of course if everyone's available, I'll have to catch you all next time.

I was thinking later in the spring when it's warmer. Want2race's car doesn't have a windshield, and I wanted to try and coax him out of the garage! My hope was to get your car, iVai's build, Want2race's car, and solder_guy's Rotus all in one spot at the same time. Locostapalooza 2009!

I'm flexible, though, so I'll go with the flow if I can.

I could probably make the drive down but I'll need to have a set date to tell my boss first. I'll be keeping an eye on this :D

I know it's a ways out, but how about Saturday, March 28th? We can meet in the morning, then head over to the GT Auto Show (it starts at 11 am). eVox, are you entering the locost in the show?

http://www.gatechautoshow.com/index.php

It was freezing cold at our meetup last year, and I'm thinking it should be warmer by then (but probably raining).

that sounds like a great idea. Yeah, I'll be entering the show. Paul Whittle usually brings his stalker too.

03/28 works for me.

That place stays packed. If we are just meeting there versus eating, it might be easier to meet at the BP across the street or near the show at:

700 Ferst Drive Nw, Atlanta, GA 30318

No big deal either way.

Hey eVox,

Is this get together for Atlanta based locosts only? If not I'd like to come assuming the weather looks accommodating for a no-top.

As you might have heard I'm planning a coast to coast and back drive during May and this jaunt to Atlanta could serve as an additional warm up cruise.

Let me know your limitation(s).

D'Bear, I don't think anyone here is counting their personal labor costs. That makes your car a truly Locost Can-Am car. I'm sure you'll be very welcome.

And your probably used to seeing people with their jaw hanging open :)

Holy cow, this is turning into quite a car show! :D :D

I can't speak for everyone, but I don't think anyone is going to be turned away! I'd love to have the opportunity to see the McBearen.

I'd love to see the caravan from eVox's house to the auto show!

If any out-of-towners need a place to stay, I've got plenty of room in my house. I can also convince the wife to park outside if anyone needs covered parking.

PM me if you're interested.

William
