If you are new.....

It is a little more indepth....a new edition will be coming out in less than a year, but in the meantime you can get the second edition.
Amazon link, also read the customer reviews...

Keith Tanners Book, How to Build a Cheap Sports Car
Image
This book complements the first book very nicely. If you are buying your frame and using a miata donor it is a great book. Very worthy purchase even if you arent . It covers header construction and other things that are not covered in the first book.

Read the customer reviews

Also check out his website

and the "car and driver" article in this thread

Also read these links for general design info

General info

One of the most popular kit choices is useing a Mazda miata as a donor.
There are several people with miata donors in the builder log and it seems like a straight forward choice. Read up on them here....

I would like to add to the list if it is not being too forward.
Earley Motorsports. We have the Leitch line of cars (Super Sprint, Lotus 23B, Brabham BT21). Not the cheapest, not the most expensive, but a quality product. There is a review on this forum of the Super Sprint.

I would have to agree with going with the Miata or something that could be used a s a donor later. Good choice and you know what you have.

This is a great site guy's with not too much people pushing their untried ideas. Keep it simple, don't over analyze. That is the way Colin kept it.

I split your last post here to the suppliers section and added you to the list of suppliers. Please take any discussions/questions there.

I believe that Keith Tanner's book is now out of print. IIRC, he said that the publisher has no current plans to reprint. Thankfully, I have a copy stashed away.
