Hello. My name is Matt and I'm building a Locost. Pictures follow.

Apparently Chet owed me a favor - I had no idea, but the result is the Locost frame pictured. Chet lives about 15 minutes from me and he called yesterday to say the frame was ready. I left in a hurry and forgot to bring cash to pay him. I told him I could pay him when I got home (assuming he'd follow me to my house). He said not to worry about it. Awesome. So, if you ever plan to buy something from Chet - a house, car, rare collectibles- just say you forgot you wallet and you'll likely get the item for free.

Anyway, here it is at home.

Here I am making Vroom noises after convincing my wife that I need another car:

Here I am going around Carousel at the Nürburgring:

As he mentioned, Chet tacked the frame together, so my first job is to weld the joints. Before that, I had to attempt to de-clutter my garage.

Before and After:

And now I neglect my family and spend the next week welding.

Welcome. Looks like lots of good "stuff" in your garage.

I like your taste in machinery. So many projects, so little time.

I can help you free up some space by taking #93 off your hands. My first car was a red '58 MGA Coupe.

Just trying to help........

Let's just say that it's been a long time since I was anything but disgusted by political "leaders", especially since the last election.

#93 is a '58 MGA Coupe - my first car that I've had for over 20 years. Bought with money earned by feeding cows and the paint job was traded for firewood. I wish you could still find deals like that.

Amongst the junk is a 5.0L Ford engine that is going in the blue MGB. But before that I need to finish the RHD Bugeye Sprite that is the pile behind the Locost frame. But before that or at the same time, I need to start and finish the Locost.

Is that a beehive I see?

Very nice collection of stuff. The Locost will fit in nicely when done.

Isn't the Carousel a left-hander? Shouldn't that be captioned "Here I am going into the trees near the Carousel"? :D

Welcome! My second car was a '77 MGB. That car made me a British roadster lover for life.

It is a left hander, maybe he's taking the Aremberg turn, or coming on to the front straight! :)

Hey, didn't you guys see "Cars"? To go left you gotta turn right.

He's gonna drift the Carosel so he starts by pitchin it sideways.

That's traditional. Important to look left however! :D

Yes it is. When the car is finished, there is a good chance I'll be going in to most turns backward...possibly in flames.

Funny you spotted that. Matt is in fact an honest to goodness bee keeper. I don't think he's mastered the ways of the Hornet yet, but I hear Hornet honey tastes like crap anyways.
