Thank you for looking at Dauns’s Glassic
What we are. A small, 3 man fiberglass shop.
Why should you buy your fiberglass from us?
#1 We build are parts to last a life time when doing in the mold it dose not cost that much more to do it right.
#2 we do all are parts hand laid no chopper guns when you use a chopper gun you have more resin than fibrous reinforcing. Just think of dropping a glass.
#3 We charge by the cost of materials and shop rate. That way you are not buying from some one that bout from us and paid shipping and mark up.
#4 Are parts are in the mold for at least 7 days to 45 days.
#5 We do a lot of small thing to try to make your parts last a life time.
We use a structural resin that has U>V inhibitors in it the same as we use in are molded green house not the junk from Wall Mart are Home depot. We try to use compression molding an the edges
#6 all are non water holding parts start with Duratec Gray Surfacing Primer The primer sands easily and ready for paint and is a lot easer to fix It two time the cost but is worth it over gel coat that will shrink 5 to 10 years down the road. Then .010" Thick Continuous Strand Veil Surfacing Mat. Then the first layer of Weave Fabric then 3/4 oz mat then 1.5 oz mat then let cure to keep the heat down . We never lay up more than 3 layers at a time. On day 2 sand and wipe down with Acetone and CHECK for air pocks then lay up more layers of mat and Milled Chopped Strand to provide a coarser mixture that will also give a stronger reinforcement on the edges as needed then final layer of Weave Fabric .

Why to get your lotus 7 fenders from Daun’s glassice? We don’t use a chopper gun! We do just the fiber glass .Some that build all the parts can’t cut back an the 1 “ tube so they cut back on the glass Been doing glass from 1972. We do not say we are a new business every few years just look here and read about some of the business that get your money and you cant find them .Use a chopper gun and then say they stop and now get there parts from the U.K . .

All we do is fiberglass. daunsglassic@yahoo.com We are in gridley Image Image

Several guys here are building +4 and +442E cars (where the nose should be 4" wider than a book frame. Do you guys have any noses like that available? They can be hard to find.

I'd love to see a nose designed for a +442E, which needs to be 4 inches wider and 2 inches taller. Given your current prices, if you made a nosecone like that I would definitely buy it.

If you guys make a relatively affordable +442e nosecone, I'll buy one of the first ones.

Oboy, Have I read this correctly. The prices are going to go down because your resin is going to 75 a gallon??? Man that's extreemly high. Your getting your resin at the wrong places. Walmart sells it for 35 a gallon. At my marine dealer I can get it for 25 a gallon.

I had higher price up there for parts . I was told the resin we use was going to 75 a gallon it did not go up. It a lot different than Walmart it has more UV inhibitors and all sorts of thinks it like Macy to Walmart but no one driving so the price did not go through the roof and work on the 442E nose
